A soul awakens, in the days of the dead. A divine crystal structure envelops it's heart. I watch it rise, As the flowers wilt and die. The flowers die, As the lochs will turn to ice So watch it rise, As the flowers wilt and die Oh the flowers die, As the lochs now turn to ice. But the figure of frost approaches, The face, blank, yet familiar. I realise... I am the figure, condemned by cold. And my fate, to absorb the soul. Freeze the lochs and shatter my crystal spine. This is I, This is my time. The journey of my crystal spine.

The Moor 05:37
Dreadful lands approach. But fearful, I am not For these sorrow topped braes, Are home. And in the dourest peat, amongst decaying earth. Resides the moor, on which my grave lies. This is where I belong

Degrading winds rip through the glen, Over rivers of sorrow and misery. From which, I'm forced to drink. For the thirst of life. And fear of death. It poisons my blood, Destroys me. Berefts me of my soul. Everlost, and empty. But drink, I must. From the poisoned stream. For it's life, that I lust. And thus forever forced into the lost dark. To hide from my fear of death. But, I never saw, the river had frozen my blood, long ago. I'm already dead.

Men eg må fortsette denne ensformigheten, for natten bærer døden. Omgitt i denne øde skyen, erobret eg elendigheten min. sorgen min. Slik at eg kunne se daggryet. men denne natten, så kald, utmattar meg. Og fra brølet av de glemte tidar ... Gråt skogen slutt å løpe, gi opp. blodet ditt blir bortkastet. godta at du må fryse du skal ikkje kjempe bare dø. for landet du ligger på, e stedet du skal være vitne til ditt daggry denne vintaren tar snart slutt. Frossent, dødt. (English translation) The fog clears as I gaze on times forgotten. times, in which i belong. Only to lay my eyes upon a forrest. lost... shadows return, the mist growing thick. time moves by. the frost, replaced by ice, formed from frozen tears of the forrest, once crying. tears that once filled lochs. But i must continue this manotony, for the night holds death. It'll capture me. My blood, generating rivers for barren glens. My soul retired in a grave If this winter envelops me, and i can run no more, my fate will be that of the forrest's crying blood until my life is drained. Surrounded in this desolate cloud, I conquered my misery. my sorrow. so i could see the dawn. but this night, so cold, exhausts me. And from the bellows of those forgotten times... the forrest weeped. stop running, give up. your blood will be wasted. accept that you must freeze you should not fight just die. for the land on which you lie, is where you shall whitness your dawn this winter soon ends. Frozen, dead.

There came a time, When the last leaf fell. And frostless morning, Were no more. When the mechanism of life begins to seize, An un-earthly silence will descend. Stay silent. For these winter months, Are for you to continue your unity with nature. Your body must die. So serve me the dark, For the light is now false. And bring me the cold. Break me down, Leave me with my soul. So serve me the dark, For the light is now false. And bring me the cold. Break me down, Leave me with my soul. Oh my soul... Let it free. From this mortality. At least 'till the light returns. For the true path, Requires a yearly reset. A slaughter by frost.

The Cairns 09:27
Between great mountains, imbedded in their shadows, We search for what we never had. The instructions for life, that we are to embrace. For these giant tombs hold the answer. Their peaks, an inscription carved into the skies above. Climb to the sky. See the cairns, left by ancestors, so wise. Let each stone erode your ignorance. Ignorance of the oppression. Gaze upon the glens, once ours. And the rivers, once pure. For in these days of enslavement, They are filled with blood. Let the blood be a reminder of the past. When they massacred our people. And let the cairns remind you of this dark present. Let them motivate the fight, to take back our land. Saor Alba.

about

"Eagal a ’bhàis" (Meaning fear of death in Scottish Gaelic) is Laoch's debut full length album, and is to later have a CD physical release with "Earth And Sky Productions".

The album conceptually explores my experience with the nature of my homeland and my representation of it. Along with the final track pointing forward to the next album, with its brief recount of Scotland's history.
